ABOUT ME

The sculptures made are to personalize your space. To add a note of uniqueness with a one of a kind creation.

It All Started…

when I needed a creative outlet. The artistry was always part of my life.

When I discovered stone and metal as mediums, I was intrigued by the possibilities of the combinations. The Stone comes naturally in endless shapes and sizes and colours. The steel, mostly seen as unbending, cold, hard, sturdy and strong material. I try to make this steel look pliable and soft as it follows the shape of the stone. The rough structure of the construction steel gives the creation an interesting surface almost like skin.

Most of my sculptures are made in the liking of plants animals and imaginary creatures like dragons.

I feel that the finish I bring my pieces to, allows the observer a wider range of imagination, than a polished finish.

Most sculptures have no finish treatment applied so it can “naturally“ oxidize. This enables the observer experience the transition and changes of the sculpture. It changes not only the colour but also the expression of the piece.

Whether I make a flower-or bird-like sculpture, I have to select the right shape and size of stone to fit my imagination to start of, then as the pieces are combined and attached they tell their own story of how it will display itself.

None of sculptures are the same each has their own character. Fierce, soft, regal, beautiful as well as coexistence can be observed.

Artistic freedom allows me to start off with an idea and ends up with something new and previously not imagined.

As I do a commission, I gather information regarding the purpose, size, the collectors, the vision and placement of the sculpture and try to find the best fit. Again artistic interpretation is required to give the creation its uniqueness.

The evolution of the sculptures and myself is evident and who knows what comes next.
